Our Story
In 2012, Meleesa Pellerino, owner of Hair Loss Solutions GV opened Image by Design Hair & Makeup Studio in order to work on her hair & makeup clients as well as introduce to the cancer community a place for them to find compassionate wig and beauty support through their challenging journey.
As a young girl, Meleesa's mother and sister were her first 'clients', and in time recognizing her gifting in hair and makeup, her mother sent her to beauty school in 1980, just out of high school in Simi Valley CA. However, in 2002 Meleesa's family began experiencing devastating loss of family members due to cancer including her mother and sister in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Meleesa wanted to give homage to them in sharing her talents and compassion with others who were struggling with their appearance due to cancer treatment. Thus, she opened Image by Design Hair & Makeup Studio. After 11 years growing her studio and starting the nonprofit Butterflies & Roses Cancer Support in 2019, she decided to change her business model to include support for those with hair loss for any reason. Meleesa and her stylist partner, Kathleen, invest quality time with clients during private consultations in order to determine the type of immediate help they can receive for their hair loss issue. During these consultations clients find a compassionate ear who listens and understands the struggle. Meleesa struggles with hair loss due to a thyroidectomy. Therefore she shares her own experiences with toppers, wigs, clip-in extensions, and the use of root and scalp covers with clients to help them find the best support for their individual needs. We are soon to incorporate Hair Systems into our services! Coming in July 2024 as we celebrate our 1 year anniversary!

We have a 2 chair beauty salon, an esthetician suite, a private studio for hair loss consultations,
our storefront, and a separate suite for Butterflies & Roses Cancer Support.

HOW WE ARE UNIQUE
We are not your typical "wig store". The wig world has expanded in the past few years. Moving beyond just the color and style of a wig, now one must consider the base structure as well. Are you wanting a lace front, a mono top, a mono part, a weft back or a handtied back? (are we confused yet?) Maybe you don't even need a wig.... perhaps you just need a topper? There are several to choose from: real hair, synthetic, heat friendly, or synthetic blend. What kind of base would you want? Perhaps extensions are the answer ...clip-ins, tape, beads, or micro? So many decisions!! Let us help you figure out your best option and in the process save you money!
Did you know that you can change the style of a wig? It can be trimmed, cut into a new shape (most of the time), styled with heat to provide curls, or straightened. Are LOMA hair products safe?
